HATTIESBURG - Tyre’oune Holmes burst onto the scene at Southern Miss in 2013.
Right out of the gate, Holmes — most often referred to as T-Man — caught 12 passes in the season opener en route to a 53-reception year, tops among all Golden Eagles. His strong freshman campaign earned him an All-Conference USA honorable mention nod and an All-Freshman team selection.
Since then? One catch. For three yards.
Holmes missed the 2014 season with an injury and struggled to stay in the good graces of the Southern Miss coaching staff last season. But the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Tylertown product is back on track, enjoying an exemplary offseason that has him at the head of the line for playing time at slot receiver.
