HATTIESBURG - The Southern Miss football locker room renovation project, which began in the spring, continues this week with an expected completion time frame of late July or early August.
Athletic director Bill McGillis announced refurbishment plans in December 2015 as part of a larger-scale, approximately $1.6 million project that included a weight room expansion and the construction of a state-of-the-art nutrition center. Southern Miss completed the bulk of the work on the weight room in the spring, while the nutrition center project will be tackled in the future.
"We're right in the middle of crunch time (on the locker room renovation)," McGillis said Wednesday.
