HATTIESBURG - They say the quiet ones are those most worth keeping an eye on.
Seldom has the sentiment rang any truer than in Southern Miss center Cameron Tom’s case. And few know it better than his quarterback.
“If Cam doesn’t know you, he might be the quietest person you’ve ever been around,” said Golden Eagle senior Nick Mullens. “I only got him to talk because I’ve had every single class with him for my first three years of college.”
Much like Mullens’ progression, Tom’s evolution from fresh-faced freshman right tackle to dependable, durable and dynamic three-year starter at center has helped his stock and profile rise steadily since he arrived in Hattiesburg in 2013.
