The first Southern Miss football depth chart of the season came out Wednesday ahead of the Golden Eagles' season opener against Liberty on Saturday.
Here are three takeaways from the depth chart.
No clarity on the defensive line
Will Hall and defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong are keeping the competition open for the three starting spots on the Southern Miss defensive line.
All three of those positions were given OR designations as the Golden Eagles continue to work out their best options.
Kristin Booth, who enters his third season on campus, is still battling it out with junior college transfer Brodarius Lewis at the first defensive end spot.
