When Kentucky and Southern Miss kick off Saturday, it will mark the second meeting between the football teams in the span of a calendar year.
But the Wildcats and Golden Eagles might as well be complete strangers come game time.
A lot’s changed on both sides since Southern Miss registered a 44-35 victory in Lexington, the largest come-from-behind effort in program history. For starters, neither quarterback from the 2016 contest (Drew Barker and Nick Mullens) will take the first snap Saturday. Barker will back up Wildcats starter Stephen Johnson, while Mullens’ graduation leaves Kwadra Griggs or Keon Howard to run the offense.
