Then, after a field goal by Andrew Stein, defensive back DQ Thomas intercepted UAB quarterback Dylan Hopkins and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown.
After stopping the Blazers' offense, USM started its sixth drive of the game deep in its own territory, leading to a fumble in the endzone and a safety for UAB.
