After University of Southern Mississippi head coach Jay Hopson earned a Gatorade bath in the Golden Eagles' 45-27 victory over North Texas, he entered the postgame press excited about his team's win but knew there was more work to be done.
Southern Miss (4-2, 2-0 Conference USA) had just defeated a North Texas team that had the Golden Eagles' number over the last three matchups and featured a high-powered offense.
The Golden Eagles' defense held the Mean Green to 378 yards of offense, 2-of-12 on third-down conversions and only one second-half touchdown.
"We have plenty more big games coming up and next week is no exception," Hopson said.
