The Southern Miss Women’s Tennis team started their spring season off with a 7 – 0 sweep of Jackson State on a chilly Saturday afternoon in Hattiesburg.
Southern Miss senior Carolin Drescher clinched a 6 – 4, 6 – 1 match win at number 1 singles for the Lady Eagles. Drescher and fellow senior Alex Kitchen also won their #1 doubles set 6-4.
Head coach Dominic Modise said he was impressed with his team’s performance on Saturday. “It was a good match,” Modise said. “We had a little nerves as expected, but overall performance was great.
