Southern Miss probes alleged anthem protest incident

University of Southern Mississippi officials are looking into two students' claims they were harassed and physically attacked when they remained seated for the national anthem at Saturday's football game at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

Dean of Students Eddie Holloway said campus police are trying to determine what occurred. He said his office would respond to the investigation's findings.

"There's an investigation ongoing, and they are in the discovery of what happened or what did not happen," he said. "Obviously, the game and the stands are filled with students and non-students.
