HATTIESBURG – Southern Miss football coach Jay Hopson completed his 2020 full-time staff Thursday by announcing the hirings of assistant coaches Tony Pecoraro, Matt Kubik and Cedric Thomas.
Pecoraro returns to the staff as the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach, while Kubik joins the program as an offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach and Thomas as defensive backs coach. Current assistant Akeem Davis will move over to offense to take over the running backs.
The offensive coaching staff for the 2020 season for the Golden Eagles will include Kubik (OC/QBs), Scotty Walden as co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers, Ryan Stanchek at offensive line, Tim Billings at tight ends and Davis (RB).
