Southern Miss running back Frank Gore Jr. and linebacker Hayes Maples earned Conference USA second team honors.
Gore led the Golden Eagles football team in rushing yards, gaining 708 yards on 121 carries. Gore eclipsed 100 yards three times this season, including a career-high 130 yards against North Texas. The Golden Eagles were undefeated when Gore rushed for over 100 yards.
He was also selected to the all-freshman team and took to Twitter to react to the honors by saying "More Work To Be Put In" and "Blessed from Above" in two posts with praying hand emojis.
