Southern Miss football is set to take on Troy at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN+) in the Golden Eagles' Sun Belt Conference debut.
USM (2-2, 0-0 SBC) is riding a two-game winning streak into this contest, while Troy (3-2, 1-1) has also won two in a row.
The Golden Eagles hold an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series, but the Trojans have had the edge as of late, winning two of the last three — including a 21-9 victory last season in Hattiesburg.
Both teams are led by stout defenses with strong pass rushes.
