Another week presents another opportunity for Southern Miss football to score its first-ever Sun Belt Conference victory.
This time, the Golden Eagles (2-3, 0-1 SBC) will get their chance at home, welcoming Arkansas State (2-4, 1-2) to M.M. Roberts Stadium on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN+).
Both teams are struggling on one side of the ball. Southern Miss comes into the game with a bottom-30 offense, while Arkansas State is one of the 30 worst teams in the country on defense against FBS foes.
The Golden Eagles hold a 9-2 record against the Red Wolves in the all-time series.
