“Fun” has been one of Jay Hopson’s primary buzzwords throughout spring training.
Whether he’s referring to the quarterback competition, the depth his Southern Miss football team has at a few key positions like running back or simply in general, the third-year coach is smiling more compared to previous springs and appears to be enjoying himself.
The Golden Eagles practiced Tuesday and gave Hopson another reason to be happy. Especially compared to last week’s intrasquad scrimmage, which he said was probably the low point of spring training.
