No. 2 seed Southern Miss (37-20) faces No. 4 seed Southeast Missouri in an elimination game in the Oxford Regional Saturday at 11 a.m. The Golden Eagles, who lost 5-2 against Florida State on Friday, need to defeat the Redhawks to advance to a Sunday matchup against either Florida State or Ole Miss. If the Golden Eagles don't win, their season will be over.
Southern Miss has a good shot because of Powell, the right-handed senior who has a tendency to do things himself.
