Southern Miss ran its winning streak to nine games with Sunday’s 9-2 victory at Old Dominion.
It’s the second consecutive series sweep for the Golden Eagles (32-11, 16-4), who have increased their lead atop the Conference USA standings to two games with nine games remaining against league opponents. The Golden Eagles, which have won 41 of their last 50 C-USA contests, are scheduled to face Tulane at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg.
ODU (12-29, 5-16) surrendered 39 hits against Southern Miss and was outscored 20-6 in the three-game series. The Golden Eagles scored at least one run in 13 out of 27 innings.
