Southern Miss freshman center Trace Clopton won the starting job for the Golden Eagles a week-and-a-half into spring practice. After a full season as a starter, he's being recognized alongside some of the country's best freshman.
The Brookhaven native has been named to the 18th annual Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team. Clopton, who was also named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team, is one of two true freshman offensive linemen named to the FWAA All-Freshman Team.
