The Southern Miss baseball team is staying home to start the NCAA Tournament.
The NCAA announced Sunday that Hattiesburg will be one of 16 Regional tournament sites. The 12th-ranked Golden Eagles (43-16) will serve as the host team for the third time in school history (2003, 2017), but it will be just the second time they've hosted as the No. 1 seed of the four-team tournament.
It wasn't revealed Sunday which one of the 16 overall seeds Southern Miss will be. That will be announced at 11 a.m. Monday, along with the other three teams participating in the Hattiesburg Regional.
