HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss baseball second baseman Will McGillis announced his departure from the program on Twitter Thursday evening.
McGillis started 66 games for the Golden Eagles in 2022. He was tied for 10th in Conference USA with 16 home runs this season.
The right-handed power bat posted career-bests this season with a .265 average, .394 on-base percentage and .543 slugging percentage.
"Playing in front of the fans at Pete Taylor Park was a dream come true and playing at PTP is one of the greatest joys I'll ever have," McGillis wrote in his announcement.
