Rowe's 20 points not enough to push USM past FAU

Southern Miss got a career-high 20 points out of true freshman center Tim Rowe Thursday at Florida Atlantic.

It wasn’t enough, though, as the Golden Eagles squandered a halftime lead for the second time in three games, falling 58-51 to the Owls. The loss drops Southern Miss to 4-11 overall and 1-3 in Conference USA action. FAU improves to 3-14 and 1-3 in league play.

Quinton Campbell led all Golden Eagles with 9 rebounds in the losing effort at Boca Raton, Fla. Khari Price also put up 9 points for Southern Miss.

FAU dominated the early portion of the contest, jumping out to a 9-0 lead by the 16:38 mark in the first half.
