SAN ANTONIO, Texas — UTSA bore the look of a team prepared to play Saturday.
Southern Miss did not.
The homestanding Roadrunners dominated the Golden Eagles to the tune of a 55-32 final score, and improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference USA action in the process. On the other hand, Southern Miss dropped to 4-2 and 2-1.
UTSA came out swinging — and connecting — from the outset Saturday. Three plays into the game, quarterback Dalton Sturm hooked up with a wide open Kerry Thomas Jr., who strode into the end zone resulting in a 71-yard touchdown.
