The man who led Southern Miss back to winning championships is leaving Hattiesburg.
Todd Monken reportedly has accepted an offer to become the Tampa Bay Buccanneers' new offensive coordinator. The Tampa Bay Times broke the news Sunday afternoon, after Southern Miss scheduled a press conference without specifying a reason.
Southern Miss went 9-5 this season, and won Conference USA's West Division with a 7-1 record. Monken's third Golden Eagles team whipped Louisiana Tech 58-24 on the road in order to win the division, but lost the next week at Western Kentucky in the C USA Championship Game.
