Southern Miss is in the market for a new defensive coordinator.

Tony Pecoraro has reportedly accepted the same position at Florida Atlantic. FootballScoop.com reported the news first.

Pecoraro, who previously served on staff at Florida State and Webber International (in Florida), has spent the past two seasons with the Golden Eagles. Last year, Southern Miss finished 20th in the nation in total defense, giving up an average of 331.9 yards per game. The Golden Eagles ranked 45th in the country in 2017, allowing 24.5 points per game.

Pecoraro, who spent the past two seasons in Hattiesburg, is the third assistant coach to leave Southern Miss since December.
