Recruiting quality high school players has never come easy for Southern Miss

Recruiting has never been a painless endeavor at Southern Miss.

Especially when it comes to luring quality players to Hattiesburg straight out of high school. Making matters even more difficult in recent years, the basketball program has had to slog through the hardships that accompanied by a years-long NCAA investigation — the effects of which are still being felt by the Golden Eagles.

Despite those far less than favorable conditions, though, fourth-year coach Doc Sadler has proven attracting quality high school players to Southern Miss is not impossible.
