Southern Miss’ offseason quarterback competition got a lot more interesting Sunday.
One of the more prolific junior college passers in the country, Northwest Mississippi freshman Jack Abraham, gave his verbal commitment to the Golden Eagles. He plans to sign with the team later this month and enroll at Southern Miss in January.
Abraham, a former Oxford High star, threw for 2,949 yards and 23 touchdowns (8 interceptions) in 11 games this season.
