Fitting given the first-year Southern Miss pitching coach’s chosen profession, where the ability to teach others is integral. And Ostrander has used it to carve out a dandy track record of working wonders with pitchers.
In his first season as Louisiana Tech’s pitching coach in 2016, the Bulldogs put up a team earned run average of 3.77 — three-quarters of a run lower than the year before.
