Southern Miss football has lost one of its key commitments in the Class of 2023.
Madison Central wide receiver Isaiah Spencer announced on Twitter Tuesday that he was re-opening his recruitment. Spencer verbally committed to play for the Golden Eagles in July.
"I would like to thank Coach (Desmond) Lindsey and Coach (Will) Hall along with the rest of the staff, and fans for accepting me with open arms," Spencer wrote on Twitter.
Spencer is the 12th-ranked senior in the state of Mississippi, according to 247Sports analysts.
The decommitment comes on the heels of a visit to Georgia Tech last weekend for its game against Duke.
