HATTIESBURG — Four days after linebacker Jacob Johnson received an offer from Southern Miss, the Golden Eagles landed his commitment.
Johnson, out of St. Paul's School in Covington, Louisiana, lined up primarily as an outside linebacker on his 2021 film reel.
St. Paul's School went 8-3 last season, holding the opposition to 20 points or fewer nine times.
According to his Hudl page, Johnson completed the season with 96 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a touchdown.
An unranked prospect, he becomes the ninth commit in Southern Miss' Class of 2023.
