Southern Miss and Mississippi State will kick off the middle game of the season-opening series at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Golden Eagles trounced the Bulldogs 11-0 Friday in Game 1. Nick Sandlin got the win, tossing 7 shutout innings in the first collegiate start of his career, while Konnor Pilkington was saddled with the loss after giving up 2 runs in 4-plus innings.

Junior left-hander Stevie Powers will make the start for Southern Miss on Saturday. He will be opposed by fellow southpaw Ethan Small.
