Daniel Keating doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs to help Southern Miss score a 6-4 victory over Middle Tennessee Friday at Pete Taylor Park.
The Golden Eagles’ triumph continues the team’s run of recent regular-season dominance against Conference USA competition. Scott Berry’s squad has won 22 of its last 23 league contests, dating back to the 2015 season.
Southern Miss improves to 23-8 overall and 9-1 in C-USA play. The Blue Raiders fall to 14-16 and 2-8.
Keating, a sophomore making his 14th start of the season, gave the home team the early 1-0 lead when he sent a ringing double off the center-field wall that brought Tracy Hadley around to score.
