Southern Miss isn't getting much love these days.
Coming off an 8-5 season in 2017, the Golden Eagles were recently picked by Conference USA media to finish fourth in the league's six-team Western Division in the annual preseason media poll.
That's fourth behind North Texas, UAB and, most surprisingly Louisiana Tech, a team the Golden Eagles beat on the road last season.
