Baseball season begins for Southern Miss in fewer than five weeks.
It will be accompanied by lofty expectations as a result of last year’s success. The Golden Eagles (ranked 25th in the country in Collegiate Baseball’s preseason poll) won 50 games for the first time in program history, were an NCAA regional No. 1 seed for the first time ever and many players that contributed along the way are back.
