Hopson: 'I don't ever worry about' Mullens

Coming off the team’s only loss of the season, Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens indicated the offense was still in search of “the right chemistry.”

Through the first three games, the Golden Eagles’ senior and fourth-year starter was scuffling. Mullens threw for 737 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions in the team’s 2-1 start — down from his production through the first quarter of his junior year, where he completed 64 percent of his passes for 919 yards, eight touchdowns and just three picks.

There was plenty of change around Mullens on Southern Miss’ offense, which some around the program attributed to his scaled back stat line.
