High pitch count for Southern Miss baseball signee raises eyebrows

Mississippi Gulf Coast left-handed pitcher Josh Lewis is having a stellar season.

The Southern Miss signee, who is slated to join the Golden Eagles prior to the 2019 season, has put up some of the best numbers among all junior college pitchers in the country this year. He is 9-1 with a 2.23 earned run average, according to the MGCCC website.

The reigning MACJC Pitcher of the Week, who threw a 2-hit, 8-inning complete game last week, led the Bulldogs to victory again Thursday.
