HATTIESBURG – Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson doesn’t like to talk about bowl games, and that’s especially true this week.
Hopson’s Golden Eagles (5-5, 4-3 C-USA) have one shot to pick up their sixth win of the season, and become eligible for a bowl invitation, with a win over UTEP this weekend in El Paso.
“We don’t ever want to put the cart in front of the horse,” Hopson said.
