HATTIESBURG — What’s happening on the field doesn’t match what’s happening behind the scenes.
On the football field, Southern Miss has steadied itself as one of the most successful programs in Conference USA. Over the last three seasons, USM ranks third among C-USA schools in wins with 24 and second in league wins with 17. Along with Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee State, Southern Miss is one of three teams in the conference to have posted winning records each of the last three seasons and one of four to have played in three-straight bowl games.
