That wasn’t a great weekend for college football in Mississippi.
Mississippi State suffered an ugly 38-14 home loss to Auburn, a game the Bulldogs trailed 35-0 at halftime. Tigers running back Kamryn Pettway rushed 39 times for 169 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Sean White completed 77.8 percent of his passes.
Southern Miss fell 55-32, allowing Texas-San Antonio to have two players rush for at least 100 yards and have a quarterback throw for nearly 200 despite completing just 10 passes.
Ole Miss had its bye week but still faced some drama when quarterback Chad Kelly had to be restrained after running onto the field Friday during his younger brother’s high school game.
