HATTIESBURG - There was a lot to like about the first day of spring camp for Southern Miss.
First-year Golden Eagle coach Jay Hopson said as much. So did new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, as well as senior quarterback Nick Mullens and senior defensive lineman Dylan Bradley.
But there was also plenty that fell into the opposite category Tuesday.
“It’s the good, the bad and the ugly on the first day of spring,” said Hopson. “I thought we played with good effort, but certainly there’s always a lot to correct on the first day. We’ll get in tomorrow and make corrections.
