Shannon Dawson wasn’t happy about Nick Mullens’ three-interception first half last week at Kentucky.
But Southern Miss’ offensive coordinator also understood there was no reason to panic.
While the picks Mullens threw against the Wildcats were a big reason why the home team built a 35-10 lead before halftime, Dawson said sometimes credit must simply be given to the opposing defense.
“It wasn’t like, ‘OK, that was a bad decision,’ “ he said. “The balls went to the right place and they either made a great play or the ball was tipped and they picked it.
