Luke Reynolds had every intention to suit up and play for Southern Miss in 2017.
The left-handed swinging, right-handed throwing corner infielder got 92 at-bats as a sophomore at Mississippi State in 2015. But things weren’t exactly working out and the result was a mutual parting of ways. Under the circumstances, the expectation was the NCAA would approve a waiver that would allow Reynolds to play for the Golden Eagles without having to sit out a year.
