Taylor Braley has been Southern Miss’ resident renaissance man all season.
Sunday was no different.
The junior dual-threat hit his 17th home run of the season and gave the Golden Eagles 5 2/3 innings on the pitcher’s mound to help propel his team to a 8-3 victory over South Alabama. The win sends Southern Miss (50-14) to Monday’s Hattiesburg Regional championship round, where it will face the winner of Sunday’s Mississippi State-South Alabama rematch. It’s just the second time (2009, Atlanta regional) the team has reached a regional title game undefeated.
