Watford trio Andre Gray, Domingos Quina and Nathaniel Chalobah apologise to boss Nigel Pearson and their team-mates after being dropped for Southampton defeat for breaking lockdown rules at birthday party

Watford trio Andre Gray, Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina have apologised to their team-mates after being stood down from Sunday's loss against Southampton for attending a lockdown party.

Sportsmail has learned the three players, who were at the training ground today, have said sorry to manager Nigel Pearson and their playing colleagues.

But they are still facing disciplinary action for the events that led to them being omitted from the squad to face the Saints.

Footage from social media also showed attendees playing football on a pitch in the garden, as striker Gray celebrated his 29th birthday

However, there is hope, provided the players in question pass their next coronavirus tests, they can be available to face Chelsea at the weekend.
