'Their well-being is our top priority': Chris Silverwood insists England have looked after Jofra Archer following his late withdrawal from second Test due to breach of bio-secure regulations

Chris Silverwood is adamant England have done everything they can to look after Jofra Archer since his dramatic late withdrawal from the second Test after breaking bio-secure regulations.

The England coach says they kept a careful eye on Archer, 25, from the moment on Thursday he was put in isolation for five days after taking an unscheduled detour to home in Hove en route from Southampton to Manchester for the second Test.

‘We’ve been in touch with him all the way through the Test,’ said the coach before seeing Archer’s Sportsmail column. ‘As we’ve said, we try to look after our players to the best of our ability.
