Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini has earned a recall to the Italy squad for the forthcoming games against Albania and Holland after his fine start to life on the south coast.
The former Napoli striker has not featured for the national team since a European Championship qualifier against Malta in September 2015, but a run of nine goals in 11 appearances has alerted the attention of Italy manager Giampiero Ventura.
Serie B goalkeeper Alex Meret is the surprise inclusion in the Azzurri squad.

The 19-year-old Udinese player is on loan with second-division SPAL, who are currently top of the league after putting together an 11-game unbeaten run.
