Southampton legend Francis Benali to run a marathon in his BACK GARDEN this weekend amid the coronavirus lockdown to raise money for charities and the NHS after being inspired by heroic Captain Tom Moore

Southampton legend Francis Benali will run a lockdown marathon of more than 700 laps of his back garden to raise money for charities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Benali, who made over 300 appearances for Saints, has forged a fearless reputation for his extreme fundraising challenges since the end of his playing career.

And he has been inspired to pull on his running shoes once again by the heroics of Captain Tom Moore, the 99-year-old who has raised more than £27million for NHS Charities Together by covering 100 lengths of his garden in Bedfordshire.
