Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl urges star striker Danny Ings to sign new long-term deal at the club and not 'throw away something special' for more money elsewhere

Ralph Hasenhuttl hopes star striker Danny Ings does not 'throw away something special' at Southampton by looking elsewhere in the coming months.

Ings, who could return from injury against Brighton on Monday night, joined Southampton permanently in the summer of 2019 and has thrived on the south coast, earning a recall to the England squad in the process.

The 28-year-old finished second in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot last season, scoring 22 goals, and his manager has encouraged the England international to focus on his significant role in the team as he enters the final 18 months of his current contract.
