Southampton were beaten by Brentford 2-0 on Wednesday night at St Mary's as the Saints remained rock bottom.
Ivan Toney put the Bees ahead after 23 minutes with a well-taken volley, as fans start to dream of European football.
Southampton dominated possession in the second-half, keeping 67 per cent of the ball, however Ruben Selles' side were unable to find an equaliser.
To add insult to injury, Yoane Wissa scored in the final moments of the game.
