Shirt marks 50 years since club's FA Cup win

A football club has released a commemorative shirt to mark 50 years since it achieved FA Cup success.

The new kit will honour Southampton Football Club's 1976 win against Manchester United at Wembley, one of the biggest shocks in the competition's history.

The yellow and blue shirt is a modern remake of the one worn in the game and was designed in collaboration with some of the players from the 1976 squad.

It will be worn by Saints when they take on Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the cup on 10 January.

Club legend Micky Channon with current forward Jay Robinson posed with the FA Cup
Southampton Football Club Mickey Channon, an older man wearing a flat cap, sits in a bus with a vintage interior while holding onto one side of the FA Cup trophy. The other side is held by Jay Robinson, who's sat on the opposite side of the aisle. Both men are smiling. Behind them, on either side of the bus, are Joshua Quarshie and Ryan Manning, both obscured slightly by shadow.

Greg Baker, chief revenue officer at the club, said: "Our 1976 FA Cup victory remains the greatest achievement in the club's history and this anniversary gives us a unique opportunity to honour the players, supporters, and traditions that define Southampton FC.
