Pedro Neto's superb winner completes turnaround for Wolves at Southampton after Danny Ings' volley was cancelled out by a controversial Ruben Neves spot kick to hand Ralph Hasenhuttl's side their SIXTH league defeat in a row

Ralph Hasenhuttl became the latest manager to accuse VAR of ruining football after a controversial refereeing decision sent Southampton spinning towards a record sixth straight league defeat.

With the home side 1-0 up, referee Graham Scott gave Wolves a questionable penalty early in the second half when Nelson Semedo’s close-range shot hit Ryan Bertrand on the arm. Ruben Neves converted and after Pedro Neto had put Wolves 2-1 up, Saints were denied a spot-kick of their own when the ball struck Wolves defender Leander Dendoncker on the arm.

Hasenhuttl was furious that VAR Martin Atkinson did not intervene in either case and said: ‘The games are not decided in the stadium anymore.
