Matt Le Tissier has announced he is temporarily quitting social media after revealing he has been targeted by 'cyber bullies' who have allegedly tried to get him sacked from his role as a pundit on Sky Sports.

The Southampton legend had been outspoken on social media about various subjects including the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In the wake of personal criticism, the retired playmaker released a lengthy statement detailing his position.

In a statement published on Twitter, Le Tissier said: 'Yes I've made mistakes and errors of judgement in the past which I regret but I believe the good I've done far outweighs the mistakes.
